It'd definitely be open for people to go off and find other stories -- one of my friends has retold some Dutch fairytales, which is really interested, as I've never heard of the originals! -- but yeah: a base group that would give a springboard to begin from (and an idea of what we mean by 'fairytale') would probably be a good idea.
